What to expect from your Remedial Massage
Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body. It may be of assistance for rehabilitation, pain and injury management. If a patient has suffered a moderate injury resulting in structural pain and/or loss of function, then remedial massage is often beneficial to reduce or eliminate pain and restore that function. Remedial massage is designed to improve muscle/soft tissue length, tension, tone which will in turn promote the return to normal joint/capsular/bone position; increase the flow of blood and lymph, particularly in the injured areas, thus removing blockages, damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesions resulting from injury.
Techniques incorporated into treatments at this practice include Trigger Points, Mobilisations, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Technique, Cupping Dry Needling, as well as other advanced treatment techniques including advanced stretching.
Remedial massage is widely regarded as an effective form of manual soft tissue therapy. There is substantial scientific evidence that Remedial Massage provides significant reduction of pain and functional improvement. The therapist will use varying degrees of appropriate hands-on pressure during your remedial massage.
